Górny Śląsk
z powietrza
"Górny Śląsk z powietrza" to projekt autorstwa kuratora Dawida Smolorza i berlińskiego fotografa Thomasa Vossbecka, który wykonał zdjęcia podczas lotów nad polską i czeską częścią Górnego Śląska w 2016 i 2017 r.
W epoce obrazów satelitarnych spojrzenie „z góry” nie jest wprawdzie czymś wyjątkowym, lecz zdjęcia lotnicze – poza ich walorem artystycznym – pokazują perspektywę nieznaną fotografiom wykonanym z kosmosu.Projekt pokazuje, że Górny Śląsk nie jest czarny. Wbrew stereotypowi nie jest też krainą kopalń i hut.
Wystawie plenerowej Muzeum Śląskiego w Katowicach towarzyszyły dwa tomy wydawnictwa: "Górny Śląsk z powietrza. Przed stu laty" i "Górny Śląsk z powietrza. Dzisiaj"
"Upper Silesia from the air" is a project by curator Dawid Smolorz and Berlin photographer Thomas Vossbeck, who took photos during flights over the Polish and Czech part of Upper Silesia in 2016 and 2017.
In the era of satellite images, a look from above is not something special, but aerial photos - apart from their artistic value - show a perspective unknown to photographs taken from space. The project shows that Upper Silesia is not black. Contrary to the stereotype, it is also not a land of mines and smelters.
The outdoor exhibition of the Silesian Museum in Katowice was accompanied by two volumes of the publication: "Upper Silesia from the air. A hundred years ago" and "Upper Silesia from the air. Today"
